Karcher Equipment Buying Checklist: K1800 Pressure Washer, Wall-Mount Units, and Used Floor Scrubbers

This checklist is for the person who signs the purchase order and then has to explain the budget variance six months later. I'm a procurement manager at a 180-person facility services company. I've managed our equipment and consumables budget for six years, currently about $430,000 a year, and I've tracked every order in our cost tracking system since 2019.

The pattern that shows up in my cost reviews is almost always the same. People pick a machine based on sticker price, ignore installation and consumables, and then call me when the repair bill messes up the quarter. The fix is a checklist. If you're looking at a Karcher pressure washer, a wall-mount unit, a used 5700XP floor scrubber, or filter cartridges for an industrial dust collector, the same six steps apply.
